It's Coming!!!

My birthday!!! It's coming!!!!! On Tuesday!

Mama said that one year ago she didn't know who I was yet. She said she was excited to meet me and see me and get to know me...but she had to wait till March 3 to do that.

And now, she's known me for almost an entire year!

She said that I've changed a lot since that first time she met me. Back then, I was good, really, really good at doing 4 things. Wanna guess what they were?..... YEP! Eating, sleeping, crying, and making a big ol' mess in my diaper. You know, I still do pretty well with those things...but I've added quite a bit to my list of accomplishments.

For example...
*when Mama sticks a camera in front of my face, I know it's time to smile and have a happy face.

*if Mama asks me where my blanket is (we only practice this one when we're upstairs) I can find it.

*I know where Mama's nose is. Sometimes she lets me touch it. Sometimes.

*when Daddy gets ready to leave for work and says "Bye-bye!!", I know it's time to wave.

*I know that if I stand at the kitchen gate and yell long enough, Mama will let me in. And then I can play with all the fun kitchen things... like the fridge magnets... and the cookbooks... and Mama's bags of flour....

*sometimes I'm hungry. Very hungry! And I need to remind Mama of that very fact. I like to be loud at the table. But just sometimes.

*oh, and speaking of food, if I don't like my menu selection, I've discovered a convenient way of disposing of said offensive food. I just take it out of my mouth and drop it on the floor. Mama says I'm being a silly goose, but I just consider it a lesson in science. You know, just testing gravity one more time.

*my mouth is good for something besides just eating... I can "say" things. Well, try to anyway.

I hope you come back and join in all the birthday celebrations on Tuesday!!!

I Heart Mama

I LOVE MY MAMA!!!

Yes, sir...I'm a "mama's boy" and not ashamed to admit it.

She feeds me and gets me dressed and gives me baths and plays with me and kisses me and makes silly faces and lets me climb up the steps and holds me and feeds me (did I mention that already?) and changes my stinky diapers and takes me to fun places and knows how to make me stop crying......

What's not to love?

Sure, Daddy is fun to play with too. He sings me silly songs and makes silly faces. Sometimes he gets me dressed or changes my diapers. But he's just not Mama.

I LOVE MY MAMA!!!

ps...Don't worry, Daddy. Your turn is coming.
Soon.

Hey! That's my name!!!

Last night Daddy readed me a story from the Bible story book. Yes, he's been doing that every night, but last night was different. Last night I heard MY NAME in the story!!! Did you know there's a Jonathan in the Bible story book? It's there!! And he had a friend. He's name's David. They shared things and they shaked hands.

Don't believe me? Just come over to my house and I'll show you the book.

Come tonight, right before bed time, and you can hear a story too!!

Surprises

Ever have a not-so-fun surprise in your day? Like when you go to pick up your blanket but you don't see the dump truck right beside it and you trip on it and fall down and hurt yourself. Not so fun.

Then there are the so-very-fun surprises. Like when Mama says, "Jonathan, do you want to eat a candy cane?" Good stuff!!!

I had a few of those recently. Want to hear 'bout them? Ok!!

The other day, the day when we "drived" back home from "Har-bee Cedars," Daddy drived the car right beside a very big building. He got out and Mama got out. And they got me out of the car. Then Mama and An-jew drived away. Surprise!! Then Daddy told me that we (just me and Daddy) were going to look at a whole bunch of cars. CARS!!! Talk about the best surprise...not only did we look at the cars, we got to touch some of them and we got to SIT INSIDE some of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND then we got to ride in a train to come back home. FUN!!! "Gank" you Daddy!!!

Yesterday I had another fun surprise. Yesterday Mama asked if I wanted to go out and play in the snow. Silly Mama!! Course I want to!! And An-jew too!! Mama said I had to wear snow pants and boots and mittens and a scarf and a hat. Oh, and my coat too. What a pain to put all that on! But I guess Mama did know what she was doing cause it was cold outside. I walked in the snow and rolled in the snow and "throwed" the snow and crawled in the snow. I wanted to make a snowman (Daddy said we could make one when we got some snow) but Mama said we'd have to try that another time. Something about the snow not sticking together. And she was holding An-jew. FUN!!! Why, oh why did we have to come back inside, Mama??!?

What fun surprises have you had recently?

Where are Grandpa and Grandma "Hebrew"?!?

On Saturday, after we ate supper, Mama told me that we were getting in the car and going to New Jersey. YIPPPEEEEE!!!! A car ride!!! YIPPPPPEEEEEE!!!! New Jersey - that's where "Har-bee Cedars" is!!!!!! And Har-bee Cedars is where we see Grandma and Grandpa "Hebrew."

Mama told me that we weren't going to Har-bee Cedars right away. In fact, it took us 2 days to get there! Saturday night we stayed at a New Jersey house. It had lots of fun things to look at and a great hallway to run in and a different bed for me to sleep in.

When we woke up it was Sunday and Sunday is when we go to church. Mama told me we were going to a different church...we were going to "Man-ing-hawkin" church. I liked going to that church cause they had a fun nursery with LOTS of SUPER FANTASTIC toys to play with. I think An-jew had a great time playing there too. It wasn't time to go to Har-bee Cedars yet.

After church was done, we went to another house for lunch. I really liked going to that house, to Mama's friends' house, cause they had a bucket of cars and trucks that I got to play with. And they had a lake behind their house and there were ducks and seagulls out there and we got to go look at them and throw bread for them to eat and we got to eat some of the bread too. Well, Daddy threw bread out there for them to eat but it kept landing on the ice where the ducks couldn't get it. The seagulls must have been hungrier cause when one of them figured out how to get the bread, they all came rushing over. I don't think that first seagull was too happy about having to share. (Maybe Mama needs to talk to them. She always tells me that sharing is good and that I need to share with An-jew.)

After we went back inside, we ate some lunch...and even had ice cream for dessert! Then we went back to our New Jersey house and took naps. After I woke up, I watched some football with Daddy and played. No Har-bee Cedars yet.

The next day after we ate breakfast, Mama told me that we were going to school. "And play cars and trucks," I told Mama. She said maybe.

When we got to the school we met a nice lady, Mrs. Sherman, who said that I could stay in her classroom while Mama went to visit some of the other people. Mama said YES!!! And I was thrilled cause sitting right there on the floor were wooden cars and trucks and a train!!!!!! Good answer, Mama!!!!!!!!!!

Mama came back a little bit later and I walked down the hall with her. Got to see some other classrooms - no cars and trucks in those classrooms! - and the office. Going to the office was fun cause there was a balloon that An-jew was playing with and I got a turn. And I got a baggie of Cheerios to eat. I shared some of those with An-jew too.

Then we put our coats back on and got in the car. We went to the store and bought some lunch. I asked Mama if we were going to Har-bee Cedars now and she said no. We did go back to the New Jersey house and ate lunch with Daddy. Miss Ginny came to visit after lunch. Mama and An-jew talked to her. Daddy took me for a walk to the beach so I could see the ocean. (Har-bee Cedars has a beach too.) I was having lots of fun throwing the sand and didn't want to leave but Daddy said we had to go back to the house. Nap time. Ugghhhh!

And THEN we FINALLY got to go to Har-bee Cedars!! But no Grandma and Grandpa "Hebrew"!!! Where are you Grandma and Grandpa??!?

Even though you weren't there, Grandma and Grandpa, we had a pretty good time. We got to eat some food (they even had oatmeal with raisins in it! my favorite!!!) and run around and play with Daddy and play with some new friends and sleep in a bunk bed and see some "schnow."

Maybe next time we go to Har-bee Cedars we'll see you Grandma and Grandpa!!
J

ps...sorry, no pictures!! Mama said she doesn't know how to get her pictures from the camera to this new computer. She said when she figures that out she'll let you see them.
